CLINICAL STUDIES - JUNE 2008

clinical trialsDr Jai Grewal and Dr Paul Duic will be conducting clinical studies

Study Criteria:  Patients must have a confirmed glioblastoma, accomplished by tumor tissue laboratory evaluation

Title:  Phase III Trial Comparing Conventional Adjuvant Temozolomide with Dose-Intensive Temozolomide in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma

Protocol:  RTOG 0525

SNCH Co-Investigators:  Jai Grewal, M.D., and J. Paul Duic, M.D.

Sponsor:  Radiation Therapy Oncology Group

Objective:  To determine if increasing the “dose-density” of the temozolomide during chemoradiation, as compared with conventional temozolomide dosing during chemoradiation, enhances overall survival for persons with newly diagnosed glioblastoma.  The study will also compare the treatment outcomes for patients with different genetic makeup (patients with MGMT gene methylation vs those with unmethylated MGMT genes).
